A Work Order Specialist works closely with engineering to develop and layout the shop drawings and BOM’s required for prefabricated FRP infrastructure composites. They also partner with the fabrication group to communicate the design to the manufacturing group while ensuring the design meets the provided customer layouts.
The Work Order Specialist works in engineering and production while reporting to the Production Manager.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
This job operates mostly in a professional office environment. This job will also require time in a manufacturing environment. The employee will occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, forklift movements and overhead cranes. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift items up to 25 pounds.
Travel
Rarely is travel expected for this position. The employee must have a valid driver’s license.

The Work Order Specialist works in engineering and production while reporting to the Production Manager.
Essential Functions
- Engineering CAD work (AutoCAD/Solid Works) for prefabricated fiberglass structures (bridges, waterfront, military) per contract terms submitted by customer. (70%)
- Creation and verification of BOM’s associated with the designed prefabricated fiberglass structures. (10%)
- Support manufacturing engineering with design information for both work orders and production floor questions. (10%)
- Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements. Promotes and maintains a safe work environment; reinforces safety standards and sets the example for PPE, safety training and safe work practices.

Education and Experience
- 2+ years of experience in blueprint/engineering drawing reading; construction background is a plus
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Hard working, organized, technically sound and works well in a group environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated individual
- High attention to detail
- Time management skills and the ability to work independently and as a team
- Proficient in basic math
